Mr. Gillock's music is unmistakable in its ability to inspire and touch the hearts of students and teachers. In the words of Dallas teacher, Trudy Emerick, "That was the magic of William Gillock." Those who knew Gillock best found it difficult to separate the man from his music, and maybe that is as it should be. "He was an encourager. He wanted to help you be better.", Emerick said. (from The Piano Teacher "The Magic of William Gillock by Richard Rejino)

"William Gillock was a poet of literature for the piano. He defined modern pedagogy as an American genre of music. His writing defined teaching pieces in a way no other composer has since accomplished. His music is lyrical and enjoyable to both the teacher and performer. It has a universal dignity that is reflected in his "Voice" as a composer. William Gillock was a self-made and unique composer, he was always willing to spend time away from his creative process to help others through judging, and inspiring children to become more than they ever dreamed they could be by playing his masterful music compositions. He is a constant reminder to me that music has very little meaning unless it can empower others in a positive way." Timothy Brown, composer (from his web site)
